Dessert Transformation
We cannot last a day without eating. We always crave for something that can fill our mouths with joy. We are always looking for something that is mouth-watering. Some enjoys having their main dish on their plate, others are satisfied with their appetizers, but most of us are looking forward to meet the favorite of them all – dessert.

Desserts have been a great part of our lives. They are our obsessions. They are the first thing that we can see in our refrigerators and they are the ones who mend broken hearts.
Different kind of candies, numerous flavors of ice cream and cupcakes, irresistible cakes and pies, luscious crepes, sounds like heaven right?
Despite the fact that these are yummy treats that we can have, sometimes we still ignore them. Why? Because we’re afraid to gain a lot of weight. That is not a problem anymore, because desserts had a lot of transformation. They can now be eaten even if you’re watching your weight. “Take advantage of foods that are naturally sweet and simply delicious," says registered dietitian Keri Gans, author of The Small Change Diet. You just need to avoid fatty ingredients like whip cream and butter. Great examples of this kind of desserts are dark chocolate fountain – a melted dark chocolate that can be dipped by your own fruit choice; yogurt and pies. Have you heard Japan’s mocha? –it is a creamy ice cream wrapped in fluffy sticky rice dough; Japan’s Cream Puff – made up of fresh egg, fresh milk, flour, pure butter, fresh whip cream, sugar, salt, mineral water, vanilla beans; France’s macaroons – commonly filled with ganache, butter cream or jam filling sandwiched; between two cookies. Its name is derived from the Italian word maccarone or maccherone; and Italy’s Gelato – made with milk, cream, various sugars, and flavoring such as fresh fruit and nut purees. There are also a lot of restaurants now that offers a dessert-all-you can or houses dessert products from various home-bakers around Metro Manila.
